Artist Statement

I believe that everyone is given a gift, a talent, however it is each person's responsibility to provide the discipline to develop that gift and to remember its source.
I develop my landscape images by drawing from the reservoir of imprints made through years of looking at nature. I attempt to awaken dormant appreciation of the beauty that surrounds us. When creating images of figures, I attempt to evoke an awareness of a person's emotion at a particular time, as I feel it is emotion rather than physicality that we are drawn to and which stays with us. It is my hope that these glimpses can initiate bonds between us all.
